Miquel Àngel Herrero-Cortell

Biography

Miquel Àngel Herrero-Cortell holds a PhD in Art History and is a professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València. He holds Master’s degrees in Artistic Production and in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, a background that shapes his profile toward the study of artistic techniques and materials. His research is framed within Technical Art History, with particular attention to the procedural and material aspects of painting. He regularly integrates imaging techniques and non-invasive methodologies into the analysis of pictorial works. His field of study spans chronologically from the Middle Ages to contemporary art. He has participated in national and international research projects devoted to the technical and material study of painting. He combines research with university teaching in Art History.
